Overview
Sillage helps you catalogue fragrances, build layering recipes, and understand your scent profile. This policy explains what information the Sillage mobile app processes, why it is processed, and the choices available to you.
Sillage is operated by Julien Le Ber. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to julien.le.ber.cloud@gmail.com.
Information processed
- Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, Firebase Authentication processes an account identifier and may process your name and email address so your Sillage data can be associated with your account.
- Your fragrance collection and activity. Bottle details, saved recipes, preferences, ratings, wear history, compliments, and notes are stored in Firebase Firestore and cached on your device so they can sync across your devices.
- Bottle photos. Photos you attach to bottles are stored in Firebase Storage and associated with your account so they can sync across your devices.
- Photos you choose to analyse. When automatic bottle identification is available and you choose a photo, a resized copy is sent securely to our Firebase function and an AI image-processing provider, currently Google Gemini or Mistral, to identify the fragrance.
- Purchase information. Apple processes payment details. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user identifier, product and transaction information, subscription status, storefront country, and entitlement status so purchases can be completed and restored. Sillage does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Optional location and weather. If you enable weather-aware recommendations, Sillage rounds your current coordinates to two decimal places and sends that approximate location to Open-Meteo to retrieve current conditions. Sillage caches the resulting weather observation on your device and does not store your coordinates in your Sillage account.
- Analytics and diagnostics. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics process app interactions, catalog searches that return no match, account identifiers, device or app information, diagnostic logs, and crash data so Sillage can measure feature usage, improve the fragrance catalog, prevent failures, and improve reliability.
- Technical service information. Hosting and cloud providers may process IP address, request time, device or app information, attestation data, and diagnostic logs to deliver and protect their services.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide and sync app features, personalize layering recommendations, identify fragrance bottles when requested, manage Premium access, restore purchases, measure feature usage, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and comply with legal obligations. Sillage does not sell personal information and does not use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
Service providers
Sillage relies on Apple for App Store payments, RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management, Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database storage, photo storage, analytics, diagnostics, hosting, and optional image-processing infrastructure, Google Gemini or Mistral for optional fragrance identification, and Open-Meteo for optional current weather data. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and security controls.
Retention and deletion
Your account data, collection, saved recipes, wear history, and bottle photos remain in Sillage's cloud services until you delete the relevant content or delete your account. Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete cloud data. Image-identification requests are processed to return a result and are not intentionally stored by Sillage as a photo library; infrastructure and AI providers may retain limited request data under their own operational policies. Purchase and diagnostic records may be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, Firebase, and their service providers as required to maintain entitlements, prevent fraud, operate their services, and meet legal obligations.
You can remove bottle photos, bottles, saved recipes, and wear entries inside the app. You can permanently delete your Sillage account and its associated cloud data from Settings. To ask a privacy question or request assistance, email the address above. Apple purchase history must be managed through your Apple Account.
International processing and legal rights
Service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, they use recognized transfer safeguards. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Children
Sillage is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so it can be addressed.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Sillage changes. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page when appropriate.
